WHAT IS THE SHRIMP FESTIVAL?

Each ticket entitles the bearer to a delicious shrimp and fish dinner, cold beer, water, or sodas, coleslaw, hush puppies, award-winning Brunswick stew, and live entertainment from Tony Jackson, Nashville’s newest country music singer! There will be dancing, door prizes, and a host of other fun activities. For more information, please visit the Cold Harbor Ruritan Club Facebook page.
Each winner will receive a Special Prize Package that includes (2) VIP Shrimp Festival Tickets, an autographed Tony Jackson’s Debut CD, and a Tony Jackson T-shirt. That’s a prize package worth $100 and a great way to recognize a special person.

Twelve years ago, Shawn was at a turning point in his life and knew he wanted to do something to help others. He chose a career with Chesterfield Fire & EMS and we couldn’t be more proud. Shawn is our hero because he puts his life on the line everyday to assist those in need. He then comes home after a long shift and is an amazing dad and husband.

I would love to nominate my husband, Nick Kubick! He is a former Army Ranger, who works his butt off at home and work. He loves working with veterans and helping others and frequently donates his time to worthy causes! He is a great candidate for this contest and my hero!

On May 10th 2017, my son in law, Donte Penn, who is a teachers assistant at Dominion Academy, was in a crisis situation with a male student. The young man told Mr. Penn he wasn’t feeling well, so Mr. Penn gave the young man permission to call his mother to pick him up. When Mr. Penn checked on him a short time later, the young man had lost consciousness and wasn’t breathing. Paramedics were immediately notified and Mr Penn provided CPR until they arrived. Today, and thanks to Mr. Penn’s efforts, this young man is alive and well. I’m proud to call Donte Penn a hero.

Being a mother of three kids in college, two of which out of state, and going back to college at the same time is no small task. And, on top of that working full time. Luckily over the last two years, her and my siblings have graduated however her support on getting them both started (moving one back to Virginia from Ohio), has yet to waiver. With me graduating last month and having to move all of my stuff back from West Virginia nobody deserves a break more then her.
